Realme C55 is perhaps the most interesting C series smartphone release of 2023. It’s also the most pricey C series phone we have seen so far. When we check out its design, it makes sense for it to be pricier than the other gadgets in this series. All the colors look excellent, but the signature Sun Shower (yellow/gold) color stands out very well. It looks very premium, especially in sunlight, with a bit of a glittering effect. The black color also looks premium in its own way. The rear camera setup looks pretty cool too. Well, there is a fairly large bezel on the bottom screen area, but most of us will probably not even notice it.
Okay, we got a Full HD+ large 6.72-inch 90Hz refresh rate screen but without any protection. The plastic body has no splash or dust resistance as well. So, in terms of material and build quality, it’s not very recommended. The camera is the next interesting part. There is an OmniVision 64B for the 64 MP primary lens and 2 MP depth sensor for portrait bokeh effect. We saw both photos and 1080p video samples and they were of our liking. The camera is surely recommended on this one. However, the 8 MP selfie camera could be a little stronger, but still valid.
The 33W charger takes around one hour of full charging time and the 5000 mAh battery produces about one and a half day backup for typical usage and around 6 hours SoT. We got a MediaTek Helio G88 chipset and it should be at least Helio G99 for the price. Although the RAM management and UI are well-optimized. There is also a virtual RAM option. But still, it is behind in terms of performance for the cost. It has an AnTuTu v9 score of 265557, that’s way too low. The side-mounted fingerprint sensor is well-positioned and is fast and accurate.
