Vivo Y27s has two different variants. One has a punch-hole screen, and another one has a waterdrop notch screen. We are getting the waterdrop notch model, which is a very definite negative side of this device considering its mid-range pricing. There is no screen protection, the body is made of plastic. That’s very low build quality at this cost. However, the only advantage here is its IP54 dust and splash resistance feature. The back side also has a bit of a shiny glitter effect (also AG / anti glare) which may amuse the consumers.
The screen is 6.64” Full HD but there is no AMOLED. We have IPS LCD technology with 90Hz refresh rate and 650 nits standard brightness. It’s not that bad, but again, very mediocre for the budget. You’ll easily get a better AMOLED panel with higher brightness from other brands. But the camera is where it shines. The 50+2 MP setup on the back and the 8 MP selfie shooters sounds ordinary as well. But we have seen photo samples, and they impressed us like some other mid-range Vivo phones. The natural, vibrant color tones, sharpness, details everything were stunning, both with the front facing and the rear cameras. But this is the case with daytime shots outdoors. Nighttime shots will get softer and produce a clear lack of details and lighting. The video quality is proper as well, but the quality is a maximum 1080p@30fps and there is no stabilization.
The 5000 mAh battery with the 44W charger is its top highlight. It should take you less than an hour to fully charge the device from zero percent. There are 8 GB built in RAM and 8 GB virtual RAM option. It has a fast UFS 2.2 128 GB storage. But then the chipset is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G. Some brands still use it in their entry-level mid-range phones. But if you compare with a common MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, the Snapdragon 680 is way behind both in terms of gaming and overall performance. So, we do not recommend it to mobile gamers. Some other features are a dedicated MicroSD slot, dual SIM, USB Type-C and so on.
