The very first thing that will catch your attention about the Xiaomi Redmi 12 is its design. It has a slightly larger bezel at the bottom. But besides that, the thin side bezel and the middle punch-hole look sleek. The rear camera cut as well as the glass material on the back provides a very high premium and stylish feeling when you hold it in your hand. This is the kind of phone that you’ll want to carry proudly to any event you may want to go to. We have personally used the midnight black color model of this phone and if you are looking for a best-in-class design at a lower budget; it is very difficult to beat the Xiaomi Redmi 12. It has a splash resistant body but no screen protection, which is perhaps its biggest disadvantage. If you are concerned about accidentally dropping this precious gadget, you may want to consider buying an extra screen protection. Point to be noted that this is the Redmi 12 4G model, there is also a 5G model of it which is not officially launched in Bangladesh.
A huge 6.79-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD screen with 90Hz refresh rate is what we got here. It is a fairly large device to hold and if you like smaller phones, this may not be for you. Despite being an IPS LCD screen and not an AMOLED one, it has deep and vibrant colors which will surely please the viewer. In fact, it is better than many lower budget AMOLED panels. There is also Widevine L1 certification that confirms the higher standard of its resolution. The 50 MP Samsung JN1 sensor back camera can capture clear photos with a fine color accuracy. Even low light shots look pretty pleasant. There is an additional 8 MP ultrawide lens which is missing in many lower-cost mobiles. This is another advantage. The 8 MP selfie shooter is satisfactory as well. With both cameras, you can record up to 1080p@30fps Full HD videos without any EIS or stability.
An 18W fast charging brick is included in the box to charge the 5000 mAh battery. But, in some countries, it doesn’t include a charger in the box. So, check that out with the seller. Charging time is around two hours and the screen on time is 6+ hours. We do not have any complaints about its performance with the Helio G88 chipset. 8 GB RAM is there with up to 8 GB virtual RAM. All sorts of multitasking are butter smooth. You can also pick the 6 GB model to cut the cost a bit, but we do not suggest the 4 GB RAM model because there you may face lag. The phone arrives with Android 13 based on MIUI 14 and the company promised two further OS upgrades and security updates till June 2027.
