Xiaomi Redmi A2+ is the second generation smartphone from Xiaomi’s lower cost Redmi A series. Previously, we have seen Redmi A and A+ smartphones, which were both released in Bangladesh. This one comes with some upgraded and optimised features which go in the favour of modern day lower-budget smartphone users. This is a basic phone for basic tasks at a low price.
The design here looks pretty simplistic, matching its total specifications. Those who like basic design, this is a fine device to carry for day-to-day usage. The next good thing is that it has a decent 6.52” HD+ display with good color accuracy. The size and the resolution look very optimal. The camera qualities are overall fine as a low-cost phone. Daytime photography under good lighting conditions should be pleasant. The selfie camera is useful for basic photo and video. There is Full HD+ video recording for cameras on both sides.
When we come to its battery capacity, the size is 5000 mAh which is large and of advantage for an HD+ display that consumes much less battery than a Full HD+ display. According to Xiaomi, it can give 28 hours of talk-time with one single charge and 626 hours of standby time. There is a 10W charger included in the box and the charging time is usually around 1 hours and 50 minutes to 2 hours for the battery-charger combination. The Helio G36 chipset from MediaTek can execute everyday tasks smoothly enough and is ok for playing smaller games at low graphics settings. While the 3 GB RAM model is ok for basic usage, the 4 GB RAM variant helps to have a smoother experience for more intensive or rough usage. Some other features in this mobile are Dual SIM, dedicated MicroSD slot expandable up to 1 TB and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
