Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 4G is often referred to as the “national phone of Bangladesh” in 2023 by many phone reviews and tech gadget experts. Yes, the previous Redmi Note series phones were the top choice of the consumer for a few years in a row. This is one reason for it. But this one remains on the track as well. The design is a classic Redmi Note design. It looks good, the centered punch-hole is up to the mark, but the body is made of plastic and we personally prefer phones with a glass back. However, there is IP53 rated dust and splash resistance as well as a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screen protection. You couldn’t ask for more at this price. The side dimension is only 7.9 millimeters which makes this gadget more on the slimmer side.
It has a nice and big 6.6-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen. You’ll get up to 120Hz refresh rate, 1200 nits peak brightness, eye care facility and Widevine L1 support. This is a great display spec and very hard to beat around this budget. The cameras are pretty decent. It’s nothing over the top but still satisfactory. Daylight shots with the 50 MP Samsung JN1 sensor primary camera produce natural color tones with a good amount of detail. You are getting an 8 MP ultrawide lens as well, which is very rare at this cost. The 13 MP selfie camera is also pretty decent. There is no video stabilization but the shaky feel is minimized and that’s good news.
The 5000 mAh battery comes with 33W charging. Charging time is a little less than an hour and you expect over a day and a half backup for regular usage, which is splendid. A 6 nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 4G chipset is powering the device. It’s a bit lower performance compared to a chipset like Helio G99. But you’ll get Xiaomi software optimization to cover a bit of it. Apart from that, there is good audio, noise cancellation mic., 128 GB fast UFS 2.2 ROM, Infrared and so on. It comes with Android 13 based on MIUI 14 and an Android 14 based on Xiaomi’s new HyperOS upgrade is already available. It should get the Android 15 update in 2025 as well. One issue of this phone is that many users have reported camera, network and faster battery draining issues after a software update. We don’t know if Xiaomi will fix it with future updates. But these are some serious issues you should consider before buying it.
